It may be that as part of your spinal correction, the doctor determines that you need some type of orthopedic support in order to achieve correction in the shortest amount of time. This could include:

Cervical Pillow: To support the neck and head to re-establish and maintain the proper neck curvature.

Lumbar Pillow: To support the low back and help re-establish and maintain the proper low back curvature.

Extension Cervical Traction Wedge: Extension cervical traction is done at least twice a day for 10 minutes to stretch the muscles and ligaments in the front and side of the neck to allow proper re-establishment of the normal cervical (neck) curve and reduce spinal cord tension.

Cervical Distraction: Flexion cervical traction is done twice a day for 8 to 10 minutes to relieve nerve root and disc pressure. In some cases it need to precede the use of extension cervical traction.

Heel and Sole Lift: To elevate one side of the pelvis to re-establish a more balanced biomechanical weight bearing position.

Spinal Pelvic Stabilizers (orthotics): To rebalance and support the biomechanics of the feet. Since the feet are like the foundation of a house, re-establishing proper balance here is for proper spinal alignment above.

Polar Pack: Flexible reusable cold packs to be used in joint and muscle rehabilitation and pain. Use ice for acute pain and inflammation. Use moist heat for chronic stiffness. Place the ice pack over the traction toll or wedge to enhance tissue tolerability during extension cervical traction.
